Prevention is Key

Prevention is Key

Working in the field we've come across some of the most eye watering rodent infestations and deployed rodent control programs that spand more than 6 months and required daily disposal of culled carcasses of deceased rodents. The reality of consistent control is only matched by the size and veracity of the rodent infestation and this continuously remains understated and often under resourced.

When a ripple creates a wave magnified.

Any rodent problem starts out small before it turns into a major infestation so the importance of prevention remains the best approach no matter the situation. By preparing for the 'when' and not the 'if' you will undoubtedly crush the onset intrusion of a foraging Alpha, or a subordinate that happens to cross onto your property.

Tips to mitigate risk.

  1. Inspect discreet, low visibility areas around your property and look for rodent droppings. These are typical places that Rats & Mice frequent like Roof Cavities, Subfloor cross space, below sinks & around Air conditioning fans.
  2. Apply Baitabox to these areas to allow bait to be available if & when rodents invade these areas.
  3. Replenish baits often, it's important to keep baits replenished through out the year. This ensures you maintain a rodent free zone and your able to see if any feeding has taken place.

How do you match the size of the problem?

Understanding how to deploy and execute a rodent program early allows you to gauge the situation and respond accordingly.

  • Set up an asset boundary perimeter - this will show areas of particular preference to feeding and identify any localised conducive conditions that need to be addressed.
  • Increase bait replenishment frequency - where aggressive feeding is observed it's important to respond quickly and maintain the momentum early.
  • Follow the feeding patterns as the rate of consumption declines so to will the population numbers.

Remember, that to maintain a relatively rodent-free zone you must invest in the time, the assets and often the knowledge in order for you to be successful in your efforts. Rodents are smart creatures that are underestimated, but with persistence can be overcome.
